The proposed Mixed Use Development of retail showrooms, offices and motel and dormitory units at 70 Townsville Road Ingham will provide economic benefits and improved services to the Hinchinbrook Shire region.

The proposed commercial development will expand and complement the commercial centre of Ingham and provide the entire shire with a new retail service for a range of products and businesses which require large or moderate showroom floor space.

The development will provide job and business opportunities, in both construction and operation stages, and increase commercial services for the community and provide a larger range of overnight, weekly and group accommodation options for Ingham.

The proposed motel, holiday units and dormitory units will increase the diversity of accommodation options in Ingham and encourage tourism in the township particularly with its central locality and walking distance to Tyto Wetlands.

The development has incorporated “North Queensland” design elements and is consistent with the surrounding locality without removing any character from the Ingham CBD.  The development is situated on land appropriate for the proposed usage and has considered its surrounding environment and environmental risks for design and function.
