Wine, pasta, coffee and prosciutto – some of life’s most cherished indulgences are at the heart of Italian culture. There’s a little bit of Italy in each of us and turns out there’s a little bit of Italy in Queensland as well.

On a road trip between Cairns and Townsville lies a small town called Ingham – affectionately known as ‘Little Italy’, with over half its population identifying as Italian or of Italian descent. There’s plenty of things to do in Ingham to fill a weekend pit stop, luring visitors with the promise of pastas, cannelloni and strong espresso.

But Ingham is known as much for its scenery, local haunts and atmosphere as it is for its food-centric nature. This little town is awash with carefree days, waterfalls, wetlands and indulgent nights out. La dolce vita!”
